Why I Started TxGold
October 29, 2026

Is there an issue you feel passionate about - something "big" that can't be fixed by one person alone?
Maybe it's joblessness among young, working-age men, so you teach a trade skill at the local community college. Maybe you have a heart for abandoned pets, so you foster, and you give to the animal shelter. Whatever the issue, you don't wait for someone else to solve it. You do your part - and you tell others what you're doing.
My issue
Mine is runaway money printing by the U.S. government.
I realize that doesn't sound as urgent as jobs or homeless pets. But the irresponsible, incessant increase of the money supply is the primary driver behind the things people do feel every day: rising prices at the grocery store, a widening gap between those who own assets and those who don't, and the slow disappearance of what we used to call the American dream - the idea that an ordinary person who works and saves can get ahead.
New dollars don't create new wealth. They quietly move it, from the people who get them last - savers, retirees, anyone on a paycheck - to the people who get them first. It's a tax nobody voted for, and it falls hardest on the people least able to notice it happening.
Why gold
For most of human history, money wasn't something a government printed. It was something the market chose - and over thousands of years, across every culture that tried the experiment, the market kept choosing gold. Nobody can print more of it. A dollar from 1971 buys about a tenth of what it did then; an ounce of gold still buys roughly what an ounce of gold always has.
The problem was never that gold stopped being good money. The problem was that in 1933 our government made it illegal for individuals to own it. By the time that was reversed, more than forty years later, gold was seen by many as a relic. And not many years after that, credit cards and other electronic forms of money became more and more popular. So we all defaulted to the dollar - not because it was sound, but because it was the only money that worked at the checkout counter.
Doing my part
To do my part, I built TxGold: a payment system backed 100% by physical gold, stored in the Texas Bullion Depository and insured by Lloyd's of London. You can send gold to a friend, a charity, or a business as easily as you'd hand them cash - from your phone, in seconds, for free between individuals. And you can redeem it for actual coins or bars whenever you choose.
I've been working on this since 2019. It's self-funded, and it runs on a simple promise: every TxGold is a claim on a specific weight of real gold, held for you, never owned by us. No printing press. No one deciding your savings should be worth a little less this year.
It's not an investment, and I don't pitch it as one. It's money that holds its value - and, finally, money you can actually use.
A favor
TxGold is available to Texas residents today. If that's you, I'd like to ask a favor:
- Download the app and sign up with your mobile number. It takes a few minutes.
- If you own a business, accept TxGold as a payment method. It settles instantly, there are no chargebacks, and the fee is a flat 1%.
- Tell someone. Sound money won't be restored by decree; it'll be restored the way it was chosen in the first place - one person, one trade at a time.
That's my part. I'd be grateful if you'd take a small one too.
